I spend a lot of time thinking about workplaces. The good ones, the strange ones, and the ones that make you wonder how anything gets done at all.
Earlier in my career, I pioneered the role of Chief Culture Officer at my family’s edtech company, BrainPOP. My focus was on employee growth, leadership development, and creating a workplace where people felt energized and connected to the mission. As an owner and Executive Board Member, I also helped guide the company through a period of growth that eventually led to its acquisition by KIRKBI, the family investment group behind the LEGO brand.
Over the years I have studied leadership, workplace culture, and positive psychology to better understand what helps teams thrive. Today I advise founders and growing companies on how to build people first cultures while they scale. My goal is simple: help leaders create workplaces where both the humans and the business succeed.
My career path has been intentionally eclectic. I’ve worked in tech startups, the film and television industry, and even spent time waiting tables at a high end restaurant in New York City. Each experience gave me a different vantage point on leadership, management, and the very human dynamics that show up whenever people work together.
Some of those lessons were inspiring. Some were baffling. A few were downright absurd.
That curiosity eventually turned into a podcast. On Workplace Weirdness, I explore the fascinating, funny, and sometimes dysfunctional realities of modern work with leaders, thinkers, and culture builders. Because if you look closely, every workplace has its quirks and hidden rules. And understanding them might just help us build better ones.
